General repairs
Suspension, steering, exhaust, cooling and electrical faults, diagnosed before the invoice is written.
Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm. Sunday closed.
When to book it in
Knocks or clunks over bumps.
The steering pulls to one side or wanders.
The temperature gauge climbs, or you smell coolant.
The exhaust is louder than it was.
The battery light comes on, or electrical items fail now and then.
Worth knowing before you book
We write the price out with parts and labour listed separately before anything is touched, and we call you before doing anything you have not approved.
If a repair would cost more than the car is worth, we will say so before you spend anything.
What the MOT does and does not cover
Suspension is checked on a lift, where each wheel can be rocked to expose play that is invisible when the car is sat still.
MOT manual section 5.5
Body and structure are inspected for corrosion and for whether anything is loose or wrongly attached.
MOT manual section 6
The test records what it found. It does not say what the repair involves or what it costs.

Where this shows up in the MOT test
